Speed is the rate of motion of an object.It can also be defined as the distance travelled by an object in unit time.
Speed =Distance travelled/time taken
the SI unit of speed is m/s. It is a scalar quantity.
Velocity of an object is its speed in a definite direction or it can be defined as the distance covered by the body per unit time in a specified direction.
Velocity=Displacement/Time
The SI unit of velocity is m/s. It is a vector quantity.
