Here the equations are

2/√x + 3/√y = 2

4/√x -9/√y = -1

Now
let, 1/√x=n and 1/√y=m
put m and n in following equations,we get

2n+3m=2.....(1)
4n-9m=-1.......(2)

now multiply (1) by 2 and solve with (2) using elimination method

4n+6m=4
4n-9m=-1
_______
0+15m=5
m=1/3.....(3)
so by putting m in (2) we get
n=1/2........(4)

now,
by putting value of m in (3) and n in (4)
we get our answer
y=9 and x=4

*Hope this helped*
