give the reasons for the following :
1)if we chew rice ,or bread for a few minutes it starts tasting sweet.
2) bacteria are present in the caecum of ruminants.

1.It is this chain of sugar molecules that we call starch. ... This is why the bread starts to taste sweet after lots of chewing - the amylase enzyme is breaking down the starch and turning it into glucose. Amylase isn't the only enzyme to break down food into molecules we can absorb.

Bread is a type of starch that is made up of glucose molecules and glucose is, again, a form of sugar.

If you chew on a piece of bread for a while, it will begin to taste sweet because the enzymes in saliva are already beginning to break down the starch into glucose.

2.bacteria are present in the caecum of ruminants as these are good and friendly bacteria that help the ruminants to digest cellulose that is a kind of carbohydrate which humans cant digest as they have no good bacteria that can digest celullose
