The houses in Rajasthan are painted to reflect the sunlight or rather not to absorb the heat by the walls of the house ....so that there is no transfer of heat from outside to inside of the house and thus the temperatur inside the house is less than outside.

In places of hot climate, it is advised that the outer walls of house be painted white because white colour does not absorb any heat radiation from the sun which keep inside cool even if there is hot climate outside the house.
