(i) - 5 x - 11 = 8x
55 = 8x
55/8 = x

(ii) - 19 / 3 = -2x
- 19/3 x - 2 = x
38/3 =x

Hope it help

1.according to the formula

 {x}^{y} \times {x}^{z} = {x}^{y + z}

 {\frac{5}{3} }^{ - 5 + ( - 11)} =\frac{5}{3} ^{8x}

when bases on both side are equal then their power will be equal too

therefore

 - 5 - 11 = 8x \\ \\ - 16 = 8x \\ \\ x = \frac{ - 16}{8} \\ \\ x = - 2

2.according to the formulae

 {x}^{y} \div {x}^{z} = {x}^{y - z}

-1/2^(-19-8)=-1/2^(-3x)

therefore

(-19-8)=(-3x)

-3x= -27

x= 9
