When car is accelerating,

v = 72 km/h = 20 m/s u = 0 m/s

we know,

v = u + a t

20 = (a) (20)

a = 1 m/s²

When car is retarding,

given, u = 20 m/s s= 200 v= 0 m/s

we know,

v² = u² + 2as

0 = (20)²+(2)(a)(200)

400a = - 400

a = - 1 m/s²

v = u + a t

0 = 20 - t

t = 20 s

So, a = 1 m/

r = 1 m/

T = 40 s
