This event is a very wonderful and praising event for each one of us. In this eventful day, we should pray to god to enhance our country and welcome each and every one of us.

Republic Day marks the celebration of the empowerment of Indian citizens to select their own government. It is a national holiday which commemorates the process of establishment of the Indian Constitution.

While India's Independence Day celebrates its freedom from British Rule, the Republic Day celebrates the coming into force of its constitution. A draft constitution was prepared by the committee and submitted to the Constituent Assembly on 4 November 1947.On the eve of Republic Day, the President addresses the nation.

Speech On Republic Day

Good morning to everyone who is present over here on the prosperous occasion of republic day. Republic day is celebrated every year on the 26th of January, this year India will celebrate its 73rd Republic day.Republic day is celebrated to remember the historic moment when our nation became an independent republic country. As we all know that India got its independence on 15th August 1947 and the country didn’t have its own constitution, instead India was governed by the laws implemented by the British.

However after many deliberations and amendments, a committee headed by Dr. B.R Ambedkar submitted a draft of the Indian constitution, which was adopted on 26th November 1949 and officially came into effect on 26 January 1950.On the same day, Dr Rajendra Prasad also began his term as the first President of India. And the Constituent Assembly became the Parliament of India under provisions of the new Constitution.Ever since Independence, the main celebration of Republic day has been held at the national capital, New Delhi at the Rajpath in the presence of the President, Prime minister, and other high-ranking officials of India.

As a tribute to India, on republic day ceremonial parades take place at the Rajpath. The celebration begins from the gates of Rashtrapati Bhavan followed by Raisina hill on the Rajpath past the Indian gate is the main attraction on Republic day. After the ceremonial parade, there is a presence of various dignitaries like the President, Prime minister, and other higher government officials at the Rajpath.Every year as a part of celebrations, India has been hosting guests of honour, that could be the head of the state or government of other countries for republic day celebration at the capital.

This has been the case since 1950, for example on 26 January 2015 the former president of the united states of America Barack Obama was the guest of honour on republic day. Sadly due to the covid outbreak, there won’t be any guest of honour for the 72nd republic day celebration. The flag hoisting ceremony at the Rajpath in the national capital takes place mostly at 8.am which is followed by a Republic day speech by the President and a republic day parade.Republic day march is considered to be an eye-catching element of the festival and it showcases Indian cultural and social heritage. It also showcases the Indian Defence Capability.

Nine to twelve different regiments of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, accompanied by their bands, march in all their official decorations. The President of India, who is the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces, takes the salute. On this prestigious occasion the heroes of our country, the soldiers are not forgotten.

Prestigious awards will be given away to the martyrs and the heroes who have dedicated their lives to protect the country at any cost.Republic day is celebrated in every school, college, and office with great enthusiasm and energy. In schools, various competitions are held which include dancing, singing, and giving a republic day speech.

A very Good morning to all of my friends, respected teachers, director and principal. I congratulate all of you on the celebrations on the 72th republic day of India. On this day, we become a republic country from the dominion of Britishers in 1950. Britishers ruled for country for about 150 years, After lot of struggle and effort by Indian freedom fighters, India finally got independence on 15th August 1947. After getting independent, there were still some things and rules that need to be changed which were applied by britishers, In short India needs it's own constitution.

Constitution of India is written by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and this constitution was approved by our First prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru. From 26th January 1950, India started to follow the constitution and it's rules. There are about 380 articles in our constitution, each article defines the different things.

We should remember our Freedom Fighters who really struggled and worked to get the India independent. Mahatma Gandhi, Lokmanya Tilak, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Jawaharlal Nehru, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose have struggled a lot against the britishers to get India Independent.

Particularly, we should thank to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar who architect the Constitution of India. Today, India is one of the top-most developed country in the world. From last 50 years, India is a fastest progressive country all over the world. Our leaders and Freedom Fighters have struggled a lot to get republic nation. If this leaders weren't part of this country, then maybe, today we were living under the britishers rule.

Today, we should pledge to our motherland to make our country Poor free, Corruption free, Narrow-Mindedness etc. Let's make India a clean country free our corruption and Poor people. About Billion people lives in India with unity and with the same thoughts. This make the India a great country. Today, India is one of the most visited country all over the world, which directly highlights that, India is a developing country.

India is also today best in the fields of Education, Science and technology, Research and development, Stock Market, Automobiles, Industrialization etc. This development and progress is just because "Today India is a republic country''. Our freedom fighters and Leaders gave a great contribution to get India freedom and Independent.

Let's take a pledge today to be responsible for Indian citizens development, needs and our country's development.
