In vector calculus, the divergence theorem, also known as Gauss's theorem or Ostrogradsky's theorem, is a result that relates the flow (that is, flux) of a vector field through a surface to the behavior of the vector field inside the surface. ... In two dimensions, it is equivalent to Green'stheorem.

The diverge theorem is also known as Gauss's theorem. Its used to convert the volume integral into surface integral.

It states that " The volume integral of the divergence of a vector field over the volume enclosed by surface S is equal to the flux of that vector field taken over that surface S.”

In the terms of math it is-

ʃʃʃV  div A dv =  ʃ ʃʃV (∆ .A) d v = ʃ ʃ A .ds
