the change in the path of light when ray of light travels from one medium to another medium .
when a ray of light travels from rarer to denser medium it will bends towards the normal.
when a ray of light travels from denser medium to rarer medium it will move away from the normal.:)

Refraction =
Bending of light on passing from 1 medium to another.
Cause= Change in speed on passing.
Laws=
Incident ray , refracted ray and normal all lie in the same plane.
