Answer: Unification and Reduction are the two approaches in studying physics.
Explanation:

(i) Unification is the process of attempting to express the various diverse physical phenomena with few laws and concepts.
For example- Newton’s universal law of gravitation explains the motion of free falling bodies towards earth, the planetary motion and  motion of moon as well.
(ii) Reduction is the process of attempting to break a macroscopic or complex system into it's microscopic or simpler parts.
For example- Thermodynamics was developed to explain macroscopic properties like temperature, entropy, etc., of bulk systems. These are reduced and made simpler in terms of molecules by kinetic theory of gases.
Hence, unification and reduction are the two approaches of physics.
