Positive work eg-going two steps up=+2
Negative work eg-going two steps down=-2
Zero work eg-going two steps up and two steps down=+2(-2)=0

POSITIVE WORK DONE :-
i) Throwing a stone

ii) Riding a bicycle

iii) A car moving foreward


NEGATIVE WORK DONE :-
i) A car moving on road ,work done by friction is negative.

ii) When you jump , work done by gravity is negative.

iii) Pushing a car up a hill,when you slip back the work done is negative .


ZERO WORK DONE :-
i) Work done by coolie in transporting luggage as he exert force in upward direction and move in straight line .As force and displacement are mutually perpendicular to each other that's why work done is zero.

ii) when we push hard against a wall, the force we are exerting on the wall does no work, because in this case the displacement of the wall is d = 0. 

iii) You are carrying up two heavy bags in your hands and you are not moving, thus the work done is zero.
