Answer:

1. Chloride is one of the most important electrolytes in the blood. It helps keep the amount of fluid inside and outside of your cells in balance.

2. it also helps maintain proper blood volume, blood pressure, and pH of your body fluids

RATE DETERMINING STEP:

In chemical kinetics, the overall rate of a reaction is often approximately determined by the slowest step, known as the rate-determining step or rate-limiting step

The uses of chloride include:

  • Chloride is used to lighten the color of wood pulp and make the pulp whiten and further used in the manufacture of paper and rayon
  • It is also used to remove the natural color of a fabric and make it whiten in nature such as the linen is whitened by removing the tan

Rate Determining Step

  • The rate-determining step is used to find the speed of the chemical reaction which include the steps that proceed slowly
  • The primary step will be slow in the reaction and that step itself determines the speed of the entire reaction when the reaction is about to complete
  • Even though there are several steps comprising a reaction only the first step is used to determine the speed of reaction
  • Let us evaluate these by the reaction of two NO2 molecules and the entering of CO2
  • NO 2 + NO 2 = NO + NO3 is the first step and the slowest one whereas, NO 3 + CO = NO2+CO2 is the fastest step
  • Thus here the speed of the entire reaction is calculated by the first step itself
