When solutions of lead nitrate and potassium iodide are mixed together, then a yellow precipitate of lead iodide is formed.
Following is the skeletal equation for the reaction
KI (aq) + Pb(NO ) (aq) → PbI (↓) + KNO (aq)
A balanced chemical equation for the above reaction is as follows
2KI (aq) + Pb(NO ) (aq) → PbI (↓) + 2 KNO (aq)
