Answer:

A thermosetting polymer, resin, or plastic, often called a thermoset, is a polymer that is irreversibly hardened by curing from a soft solid or viscous liquid prepolymer or resin. Curing is induced by heat or suitable radiation and may be promoted by high pressure, or mixing with a catalyst.

Explanation:

The primary physical difference is that thermoplastics can be remelted back into a liquid, whereas thermoset plastics always remain in a permanent solid state. Think of thermoplastics as butter – butter can be melted and cooled multiple times to form various shapes.

In thermoplastic

1.Thermoplatics are long chain Polymers with no crosslinking.Heating also doesn't produce any crosslinking

2.It can be processed repeatedly

eg:PVC,Nylon etc.

In thermosetting plastic

1.Thermosetting plastics are the Polymers in which chains ger highly cross linked on heating.

2.Once moulded thermosetting plastic can't be remoulded

eg:Bakelite,Melamine etc.
