Give two example when work done by a force acting on a body is zero but the displacement is not zero.

Zero Work done: When the force applied or the displacement or both are zero, or force and displacement are perpendicular to each other, the work done is zero. Examples of zero work : When we push hard against a wall, the force we exert on the wall does no work, because displacement s is zero.

Examples of situations where work done is zero, although a force is acting is - 

1. Standing still with a load on the head. - There is no displacement or movement although the heavy load may put force on the head or on the body.

2. Pushing an anchored tree, or a wall, are other examples, where futile efforts are put by applying force against an object which does not move or have a displacement.
