Methane,ethane,propane... All are covalent. Covalent compounds have low melting and boiling points while ionic have high. Covalent cmpnds are poor conductors but ionic cmpnds are good conductors only in molten state. Covalent is the mutual sharing of e,while ionic is transfer of e.
