• During summer, sun moves towards the north causing the temperature of that specific place raise and it in turn cause the air to rise which results in thunderstorm which gets formed in Bay of Bengal.  
• These showers aid in early ripening of mangoes and prevent the mango buds to fall off. This occurs before monsoon and hence it is called pre summer showers.  
• It is called Kalbhaisaki in Punjab, Mango showers in south Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Andhra and blossom showers in Kerala. Mostly pre showers happen in between March to May.
