1) When you add a drop of ink in water, you will see that the ink has stained the whole water. When you go on diluting this solution, the soultion will still have a faint blue colour left in it. This will tell you that water is made up of small particles and each have been stained with ink. So when you dilute it further, some particles will still remain in it thus making the water appear blue.
2) In a dark room, let a narrow beam of sunlight pass through a hole and into the room. When you look closely, you will see dust partcles in the beam moving in a haphazard motion. This motion is know as brownian motion. The motion in the dust particles is caused when moving air molecules knock the dust particles in haphazard ways. This will tell you that particles are in constant motion.
3) After carefully mixing sugar in a glass of water, you will see the sugar disappears. This shows that partcles of matter must have spaces between them and the sugar particles have gotten into those tiny spaces.
