Work is said to be zero,when
(I) displacement is zero
(ii)Force acting is zero
(iii)When force and displacement are perpendicular to each other,that means when the angle is 90°
examples:
(1). In circular motion,both force and displacement are at 90° .Here,work done is zero.
(2)When we hold suitcase in our hand and stand,the force is in downward whereas displacement is in forward direction.Here the angle is 90°.So,work done is zero.
PROOF :
work done,W = FsCos teeta
= Fs Cos 90°
= Fs (0). {Cos90° =0}
= 0
