When current is passed through a solenoid coil, then the solenoid aquires properties of magnet. This establishes a proper magnetic field around the solenoid. The properties of magnetic field due to current carrying conductor are given below :-

  1. Magnetic lines will be in form of Concentric circles.
  2. The plane containing magnetic lines is perpendicular to length of conductor.

For more knowledge :-

  1. There will also be a Neutral point in magnetic field where there will be no force applied by magnet.
  2. If strength of current in solenoid is increased then the number of magnetic lines will increase in magnetic field.
