Respiration in Plants

  • All plant cells need a supply of oxygen because they carry out respiration all the time.
  • The plants normally do not have any organ for breathing.
  • Exchange of gases (O2 and CO2) in plants is performed by a simple diffusiom process.

Respiration in Animals

  • Cellur respiration of animals resembles with that of plants.
  • In contrast to plants, animals are heterotrophic, they cannot synthesize their own food therefore, the amount of carbon dioxide produced during respiration.
