Well it's fact that Indian ocean is the only ocean that derived its name from a nation, but we also have many seas which got their name from some countries like Arabian sea, south China sea, sea of Japan etc.
the reason is purely geographic. Look at how centrally Indian subcontinent has been located above the ocean. In fact, no country have such a geographical advantages and control over the ocean as India has over Indian ocean. From the very beginning of history and civilization, it was our backyard. Actually, in ancient period India was not a name for a country but of a geographical entity which located in east of river Indus thus the ocean which has commanded by India is known as Indian ocean basically due to our central location.
