Give two reasons why english continued to be used in india after independence

First, English is one of the most important language in the world.
Second,Indians needed a common language throughout,and Hindi was not able to do this because south Indians didn't know it and English was prevailing in southern India so English was taken up.

English language is still used in Indian society after Independece because of the following reasons :

● During the British rule, English was made the official language. After British left India, it wasn't easy to change the official language so, it was left as it is.

● India is a diverse country with different languages spoken all over the country and to communicate with one another without much difficulty and English language was their answer. Thus, english became prevalent in India and still is.
