The similarity in between a drop of water and a prism is that, they both show internal reflection and refraction of light.

When light passes through them, then due to internal reflection it gets reflected inside the surface and comes out by refraction in different form of colours making VIBGYOR pattern.

they both create rainbows because of their spherical shape. light of the sun passes through the front of the raindrop. it hits back of the raindrop which, because raindrops are spherical, acts like curved mirror,. at different points along. this curve the beam of incoming light is bent at slightly different angles depending where it hits.
