A      Aluminium is used in a huge variety of products including cans, foils, kitchen utensils, window frames, beer kegs and aeroplane parts. This is because of its particular properties.

B      Uses of copper -

1    Copper is used in electrical equipments such as air conditioners, refrigerators etc.

2    As it is a good conductor of electricity, so it is used in making wires.

3    Because it corrodes slowly, copper is used in rolling also.

C       Uses of iron

1    It is used to manufacture steel and also used in civil engineering like reinforced concrete, girders etc.

2    Iron is used to make alloy steels like carbon steels with additives such as nickel, chromium, vanadium, tungsten, and manganese.

D     Lead is still widely used for car batteries, pigments, ammunition, cable sheathing, weights for lifting, weight belts for diving, lead crystal glass, radiation protection and in some solders. It is often used to store corrosive liquids.

E    Platinum is used in jewelry, decoration and dental work. The metal and its alloys are also used for electrical contacts, fine resistance wires and medical / laboratory instruments. An alloy of platinum and cobalt is used to produce strong permanent magnets.
