Water is one of the most important factor to keep a plant healthy but too much of it can be harmful for you plant. Different plants have different watering needs( if you have an exotic species in your house, do some research before watering it). A basic timeline for watering:
Summers: Twice- due to more heat and harsher sun, the soil tends to dry up faster hence summer demands for more water. Water your plants once in the morning( everyday) at around 8am and then check during afternoon is the soil has dried up. If yes water it again ( Do not over water your plants. Just enough to keep the soil moist).
Winters: once in a day(morning 8am) is more than enough. A lot of plant species (succulents) shouldn't be watered at all during the winter season.
