Answer:

Multiculturalism is important because it dilutes and dissipates the divisiveness of ignorance. It is important because it encourages dialogue, often between radically different cultures that have radically different perspectives

Answer:

Society generally has the idea that a multi cultural society means accommodating so much diversity and that this can be a barrier while promoting and supporting democracy. This doesn't have to be the case, as a multi-cultural society can thrive in a democracy. One of the objectives of a democracy is to accommodate diversity while promoting the unity of the country. The country becomes truly democratic when it sets an example by showing that a multicultural society doesn't have to be a barrier. Therefore I would like to say that a multi-cultural society doesn't restrict democracy, it infact brings out the democratic principles and values necessary for a democracy.
