Politeness is a virtue. Being courteous is a beneficial character trait to have. I remember once when I was travelling from Lucknow to Delhi, a fellow passenger was having a difficult time getting all his luggage onto the train. He had a lot of luggage and he was holding up everyone. The other passengers were getting anxious and angry. As soon as I got into the compartment, I politely told the passengers that we were trying to hurry up and would also help them with their stuff. In the meanwhile, I helped the young man with the luggage and everything was put away quickly. In turn he also helped the others. The few polite words changed the atmosphere. The journey was a lot more pleasant. Conversations started and numbers were exchanged. And one person among the passengers was an established veterinary doctor. Now my pet gets priority treatment at the doctor's clinic, even without an appointment!
