Answer:
Human Trafficking in Our Country
The problem of human trafficking in India remains to be quite critical. Thousands of girls, women, and children are trafficked for commercial sexual exploitation and bonded labor.
Some cases of human trafficking of girls and women to countries in the Middle East for the sheer purpose of sexual exploitation have also been reported. Children and men are trafficked for forced labor as factory workers, household servants, agriculture workers, and beggars.
Indian Government has tried to control this evil by making laws against human trafficking. Through Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act (ITPA), any person found guilty of human trafficking, can be penalized with severe punishment ranging from seven years to life imprisonment.
This problem of human trafficking exists more in backward areas primarily. Human Trafficking and Child Labor are illegal in our country. The Government has also launched a website to make it further easy for people to share any information about this crime.
Human trafficking happens mainly in public places and in crowdy areas.
Explanation:
Human trafficking is expanding at an alarming rate. People are trafficked for diverse reasons like sex, begging, labor, crime and body parts. Victims are isolated, abused, confused and disorientated. ‘Trafficking’ occurs within the country and children are trafficked especially from ‘Nepal’ and ‘Bangladesh’.
They are trafficked mainly from schools, railway stations, markets and in public places. The children are taken from homes as well and they are sold in the market. Once a person is trafficked, it is really ‘hard to track’ and prevent them from further consequences due to the ‘poor enforcement of laws’. Our country is regarded as the hub for human trafficking.
