rainbow always form at the time of rain so when sunlight falls on the rain drop then the rain drop acts as a prism and the sunlight under the rain drop goes on internal reflection which causes the formation of rainbow after reflection

The phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction, dispersion of the light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky.

It takes the form of a multi coloured circular arc.
Rainbow caused by sun always appear in the section opposite direction to the sun.

There are two types of rainbow
1)primary rainbow
2)secondary rainbow.

In case of primary rainbow, two reflection and one refraction takes place inside the water droplet. The incident angle range is from 40degree to 43 degree.

In case of secondary rainbow two reflection and two refraction takes place. The incident angle range is from 51 degree to 54 degree.
