Example of positive, negative and zero work.

Work over the body is done when there is a certain change observed in the place or velocity of the body. Keeping this in mind there are three types of work that we are supposed to know about positive work, negative work, and zero work. The examples of each are given below:-

Positive work- when a wooden log is pushed down then the work done over it is positive work as displacement is seen and due to gravitational pull, the log is supposed to move in the direction similar to the direction of force being applied by the person.

Negative work- when there is a bucket being pulled over, the weight of the bucket is supposed to be in a downward direction but the force is being applied in upward direction hence it is negative work.

Zero work- when somebody is trying to push a wall the ball has no change in its place of velocity hence the force applied goes useless and no work is done here.
