Answer :

When you use the formula of volume of a cone ;

formula = 1/3 π X r X r X h (X used for multiplication)

= 1/3 X 3.14 X r X r X 7

r X r = 7.3266666667

r = 2.7055498517

The radius of cone is 6.3 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Height of cone = 7 inches

Volume of cone =\frac{1}{3} \pi r^2 h

Volume of cone =\frac{1}{3} \times 3.14 \times r^2 \times 7

We are given that volume is 288 cubic inches

So,\frac{1}{3} \times 3.14 \times r^2 \times 7 =288

r^2 = \frac{288 \times 3}{7 \times 3.14}

r = \sqrt{ \frac{288 \times 3}{7 \times 3.14}}

r = 6.3

Hence The radius of cone is 6.3 inches
