Let the ratio m1:m2=k:1

Using section formula,

0=k(8)+1(-4)/k+1

8k-4=0

8k=4

K=1/2=ratio in which AB is divided by y axis

y=1(-3)+2(6)/1+2

y=12-3/3

y=3

Coordinates of point of intersection:-P(0,3)

Distance AB=√8-(-4)+-3-(6)

=√32-18

=√14 units
