One would need to take salt solutions of different metal salts, for example Zinc Sulphate or Calcium Carbonate. The piece of titanium metal would then be placed in these solutions: if any reduction in the mass of the titanium metal (or any precipitation of the metal from the metal salt solution occurs), it would be concluded of titanium is more reactive than that metal, and vice versa if no reduction in mass. By trying this out with a number of salt solutions, Titanium's place in the metal reactivity series can be determined.
