The angle BOC = 25°

Given:

AO is perpendicular on OB

To find:

The measure of angle BOC

Solution:

From given figure,

∠AOC  = (2x-5)° and ∠COB = (x-10)°

Given that AO is perpendicular on OB

Then ∠AOB = 90°

Here, ∠AOB = ∠AOC + ∠COB

⇒ ∠AOC + ∠COB = 90°

As we know ∠AOC  = (2x-5)° and ∠COB = (x-10)°

⇒  (2x-5)° + (x-10)° = 90°

⇒  3x -15° = 90°

⇒ 3x = 105°

⇒ x = 35°

Therefore, (x-10)° = 35° - 10° = 25°    

The angle BOC = 25°
