The assertion is true, the Indian Olympic Association was infact founded in 1927 with Sri Dorabji Tata as its founding president and Dr. A.G Noehren as its Secretary.

The reason is also true as the elections of Indian Olympic Association are held once in 4 years at the annual meeting of the general body to elect council members.

However, the reason is not the correct explanation of the assertion because the reason talks about the frequency of elections that occur in the Indian Olympic Association to elect council members but fails to explain the reason or aim behind the creation of the Indian Olympic Association ( As the assertion states details about when the Indian Olympic Association was formed and who were its founding president and secretary, a reason explaining this assertion should talk about why the Indian Olympic Association was formed and what were/are the organisation's aims)

Hence option (d) - Both (A) and (R) are true but (R) is not the correct explanation of (A) is the correct option.
