1. In my opinion, the poem is about the celebration of the first birthday of a child. As the last three lines of the poem suggest, it seems that the parents are wishing their child his/her first birthday.

2. Two things that have happened in the past year, according to the poem, are :-

(a) They have amassed so much joy.

(b) The child has won the hearts of his/her parents.

3. Amassed means Collected.

4. In the last one year the baby has started saying a few words.

5. The pairs of rhyming words in the poem are – passed - amassed, by - cutie pie, flown - grown, been - seen.
