Answer :

(i) Gaseous Transport

(ii) The oxygen absorbed by the blood in the lungs is carried by the RBCs as oxyhaemoglobin

throught the body by means of arteries and the CO2 is transported back to the lungs as bicarbonates dissolved in plasma and in combination with haemoglobin as carbamino - haemoglobin

(iii) X = O2 ( oxygen )

Y = CO2 ( carbon dioxide)

(iv) C6H1206 + 6O2 -> 6C02 + 6H20 + 38 ATP

(v) Mitochondria, powerhouse of the cell.
