2X + Y - 6 = 0

4X - 2Y - 4 = 0 or X - Y - 2 = 0

Two variables implies two solutions

Adding equations 1 & 2

3X - 8 = 0

X = 8/3

Y = (8/3)-2

Y = 2/3

Answer:

x = (3y - 2)/2 and y = (2x + 2)/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Since RHS is same, we can equate LHS for both sides. Doing so,

2x + y - 6 = 4x - 2y - 4

Adding 2y and 6 to both sides,

2x + 3y = 4x + 2

Subteacting 2x from both sides,

3y = 2x + 2

Dividing both sides by 3,

y = (2x + 2)/3

Similiarly,

x = (3y - 2)/2

This equation cannot be solved further.
