See the electronic configuration is very interesting topic and easy as well.

If you want to write the electronic configuration of an element having atomic number 38 the simle thing is to put the electrons into to their respective shells with the maximum number of electron they can hold.

For element with 38 atomic number. In K shell place 2 electrons, in L shell place 8 electrons, in M place 18 electrons similarly in N shell place 8 electrons and P shell place 2 electrons. This is it's electronic configuration (2,8,18,8,2). Even also it shows that this is an electron donar element.

A question may arise in your mind that why I placed 8 after 18 electrons in the consecutive shells this is because to obtain the Valency of the element, this can be done in normal conditions but the inner shell must contain at least 8 electrons or till the capacity it can hold the number of electrons.
