Given :-

  • Shape = Rectangle
  • Length of the Rectangle is 4 times its Breadth.
  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 49cm

 \\ \\

To Find :-

  • Measures of Length and Breadth

 \\ \\

Solution :-

Let the Breadth be x cm

Then, Length will be 4x cm

 \\

According to the Question :-

⇒ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2( l + b )

⇒ 49 = 2( 4x + x)

⇒ 49 = 8x + 2x

⇒ 49 = 10x

⇒ 49 ÷ 10 = x

⇒ 4.9 = x

________________

Verification :-

⇒ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2( l + b )

⇒ 49 = 2( 4x + x)

⇒ 49 = 2( 4 × 4.9 + 4.9)

⇒ 49 = 2( 19.6 + 4.9)

⇒ 49 = 2 × 24.5

⇒ 49 = 49

________________

Therefore :-

  • Length of Rectangle = 4x = 19.6cm
  • Breadth of Rectangle = x = 4.9cm

Additional Info :

Formulas Related to Rectangle :-

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 2( l + b)
  • Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth
  • Length of Rectangle = Area / Breadth
  • Breadth of Rectangle= Area / Length
  • Diagonal of Rectangle = √(l)² + (b)²

Answer :

  • length = 19.6
  • breadth = 4.9

Given :

  • length of rectangle is 4 times more than its breadth
  • Perimeter is 49cm

To find :

  • Length

Solution:

  • let the length of rectangle be 4x
  • Breadth of rectangle is x

As we know that :

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

● perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

● 49 = 2(x + 4x)

● 49 = 2x + 8x

● 49 = 10x

● x = 49/10

● x = 4.9

Verification:

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

● 49 = 2(4x + x)

● 49 = 2( 4× 4.9 + 4.9)

● 49 = 2(19.6 + 4.9)

● 49 = 2 × 24 .5

● 49 = 49

  • length of rectangle = 4x = 4(4.9)= 19.6
  • breadth of the rectangle = x = 4.9
