3median=mode+2mean

3x21. 4=22+2mean

64.2=22+2mean

64.2-22=2mean

42.2=2mean

42.2/2=mean

21.1=mean

The average mean for the given data is 21.1

Given:

Mode = 22

Median = 21.4

To find:

Average median = ?

Formula to be used:

Mode = 3 Median - 2 Mean

Solution:

Step 1 of 2

Mode = 3 Median - 2 Mean

As we have to find mean, the formula must be rearranged as

2 Mean = 3 Median - Mode

Step 2 of 2

Let mean be 'x'

2x = 3 Median - Mode

2x = 3(21.4) - 22

2x = 64.2 - 22

2x = 42.2

x = \frac{42.2}{2}

x = 21.1

Average mean is found as 21.1
