Cork has a density lower than water while a nail has a density greater than water. Therefore a greater upthrust is acted on the cork than the nail. That's why a cork floats but a nail sinks

Hi!!!!!
If we keep iron nail in water,it sinks.....Bcoz, the density of iron nail is more than the density of water.....
In case of cork, the density of cork is less than the density of water....So, it floats on water.....
