Given:  The set A =  {a, b, c}

To find: The identity relation on set A.

Solution:

  • Identity relation is a relation in which both the elements are same.

               example: (a,b) , where a = b.

  • Now the set given is:

               A =  {a, b, c}

               I(A) = { (a,a) , (b,b) , (c,c) }

  • So the third option is correct.

Answer:

         So the identity elements are R = { (a,a) , (b,b) , (c,c) } , 3rd option.
