let us assum that (5+3√2) is a rational number

  1. 5+3√2= a/b
  2. 3√2=a/b-5
  3. 3√2=a-5b/b
  4. √2=a-5b/3b
  • here a,b are any Integers a-5b/3b are rational number but√2 is an irrational
  • so were assumption is 5+3√2 is a rational number is wrong
  • hence 5+3√2 is an irrational number
