5x - 4y = 34.....(1) \: \:  \:  \: when \: x =  - 3 \\  \\ put \: the \: value \: of \: (x )\: in \: equation..(1) \\  \\ 5 \times  - 3 - 4y = 34 \\  - 15 - 4y = 34 \\  - 15 - 34 = 4y \\  - 49 = 4y \\  -  \frac{49}{4}  = y \\ y =  -  \frac{49}{4}
