Answer:

Well this question is about solving equations so what we need to do first is get x by itself on the left hand side of the equation. We need to take the +1 over to the right hand side where it will become -1 (inverse rule) so the equation is now 1/x = 5/2 - 1 5/2 is the same as 5 divided by 2 which is 2.5 so 2.5 - 1 = 1.5 or 3/2 as a fraction so 1/x = 3/2 now we need to multiply the denominators by the opposite numerators (kriss kross) so we get 2 x 1 = 3 x X 2 = 3X no we divide both sides by 3 so x = 2/3

Answer:-

  • The value of x is 5.6.

Given:-

5x : 8 = 7 : 2

To find:-

The value of X.

★ Solution:-

We know that,

Product of means = Product of extremes.

➜ 5x : 8 = 7 : 2

➜ 5x × 2 = 8 × 7

 \sf 5x = \dfrac{8 \times 7}{2}

➜ 5x = 28

➜ X = 5.6

Therefore, The value of X = 5.6.

Verification:-

➜ 5x : 8 = 7 : 2

➜ 5(5.6) : 8 = 7 : 2

➜ 28 : 8 = 7 : 2

➜ 28 × 2 = 8 × 7

➜ 56 = 56

Hence, Verified.

  • A ratio is an ordered comparison of two quantities.

  • ':' Is called as "Is to".

  • ': :' Is called as 'Is as".

  • Two simple ratios are expressed in the form of a single ratio as the ratio of the product of antecedents to product of consequents and we will call it compound ratio.
