Given that (a-b)² = 24 and ab =5, find the value of 2a² + 2b² .

So at first first let us multiply 4 on both sides in the equation ab = 5

=> 4ab = 20

Now, we need to find 2a^{2} + 2b^{2} or  2(a^{2} + b^{2} )

=> We can write 2(a^{2} + b^{2} ) = 2(a-b)^{2} - 4ab ( Expand (a-b)^2 you'll get 2a^2 + 2b^2 only)

=> 2a^{2}+2b^{2} = 2(24) - 20

SO finally you'll get the answer as 28
