Solution:

Thales theorem ( BPT ) :

if a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle intersecting the other two sides, then it divides the two sides in the same ratio.

DE || BC

AD/DB  = AE/EC

3/DB = 6/8

=> 3/DB = 3/4

=> DB = 4

DB = 4
