Given : An article is sold at euro 120 and 35% profit is made .

Euro 1 is equal to Rs 114.60 .

To Find : At what rupees should it be sold to get 40% profit

Solution:

sold at euro 120 and 35% profit is made .

Let say cost price = 100x  Euro

Then SP at 35 % profit = 100x + (35/100)100x = 135x  euro

SP at 40 % profit = 100x + (40/100)100x = 140x  euro

135x  = 120

=> 1  = 120/135x

=> 140x  = 140x  * 120 /135x

=> 140x  = 1120/9  Euro

Euro 1 is equal to Rs 114.60 .

Hence Sold in Rs  = 114.60 * 1120/9

= 42,784/3   rs

= 14,261.33 Rs

It should be sold at 42,784/3   Rs  or 14,261.33 Rs
